It also conducts a 2 years Diploma course in Optometry (D.Opt.) under West Bengal State Medical  Faculty with 6 months compulsory training.

This course down the years has produced well trained Optometrists who are now employed by different Eye Hospitals all over West Bengal.

First Year : Ocular Anatomy, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Physiology, Optics.
Second Year : Practice as an eye care professional, Surgical Assistance, Squint, Orthotics and Refraction, Community Ophthalmology.
